Today you will spend the day at sea on a private boat. You will explore the stunning coastline and islands of the Bay of Islands, and will be treated to a sumptuous lunch on board. There will also be fishing equipment onboard if the mood takes you.
 Day Three (Bay of Islands)
Today will be spent at your leisure in the Bay of Islands. Upon request, Quintessentially Escape can arrange a round of golf at the renowned Kauri Cliffs Golf Course, or a diving experience for the adventurous.
Day Four (Bay of Islands to Taupo via Rotorua)
Today you will be met by your private car and driver and transferred to Kerikeri Airport prior to your onward flight to Rotorua. Upon arrival at Rotorua Airport you will be met by your private car and driver who will take you on a scenic one hour drive from Rotorua to Taupo.
Taupo is the ‘Trout fishing capital of New Zealand’. Set on the shores of New Zealand’s largest lake with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the diverse volcanic landscape from the pristine lake to the surrounding mountain peaks of Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe.
Your accommodation for the next three nights will be in a Suite at Huka Lodge. Your accommodation here will include breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and dinner.
Huka Lodge, 300 meters upstream from the famous Huka Falls and set within seven hectares of park-like grounds, started as a simple fishing lodge on the banks of the Waikato River some 60 years ago, attracting anglers from around the world. Today, the now-luxurious lodge lures anyone seeking one of the world's very best retreats.

 Day Five (Taupo)
This morning board your private helicopter for a journey that includes some of New Zealand’s most beautiful scenery and prominent volcanic highlights.
During your flight enjoy views of the Waimangu Thermal Reserve - New Zealand’s most colorful volcanic arena, renowned for its Artists Pallet and Champagne Pool. Continuing along the fault line you will view the Waimangu Thermal Valley, notable for The Frying Pan Lake and Inferno Crater, a beautiful emerald lake (actually classified as a geyser because of its regular rise and fall in depth).
Landing on Mount Tarawera, a dormant volcano, enjoy expansive views of mighty domes and craters formed during the 1886 eruption. This eruption devastated much of the surrounding area and features predominantly in local history.
Leaving Mount Tarawera you track past Mount Edgecombe before crossing the coast for White Island - its lunar landscape and steaming volcanic vents are surreal.
Upon landing on White Island enjoy a guided tour (conditions permitting) taking you past steaming fumaroles and bubbling activity, to the edge of the crater lake to view the roaring volcanic vent known as ‘PJ’.
The return flight takes in more Bay of Plenty scenery including lakes, hill country farms and beautiful native forests.
During the excursion, you will be treated to a sumptuous picnic hamper lunch prepared by Huka Lodge. You will be returned to Huka Lodge late afternoon.
 Day Six (Taupo)
This morning you will visit the famous Taupo hot pools. In the afternoon, Quintessentially Escape can arrange a visit to the sacred Maori rock carvings in the area.

From the Tasman Sea you will fly inland over glaciers and frozen lakes before landing in a remote wilderness site to enjoy a lobster and champagne lunch.

 Day Nine (Glenorchy)
Quintessentially Escape recommends you spend today. We recommend taking part in an exhilarating Jet boat excursion on the scenic Dart River. Alternatively, you can visit the sites and surreal landscape where the ‘Lord of the Rings’ was filmed.
